BAILEE + DEXTER | LAUREL, MS
Bailee’s vision for her wedding celebration was so clear from the very beginning! She knew she wanted a custom made gown, for the event to be held in her hometown at the historical Rogers-Green House, and for the day to display the love her and Dexter share for each other and their families. The bride and groom tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on October 12, 2018 and chose to wait until April 20th to host their celebration so that all of their families could be present to celebrate with them. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. The Rogers-Green House is a stately home built in 1903 and is constructed of redwood in the Prairie Style of architecture. The house is nearly 7,000 square feet and hosts a lovely garden area and terrace, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a staple in the Laurel Historic District. Complete with Tiffany light fixtures and extensive leaded glass windows, it was the ideal place for Bailee’s vision to come true.
The bride chose blush as her statement color and each detail of the day featured the pink hue. All of the details were kept super close to home. The bride wore earrings and a bracelet belonging to her mother and grandmother and the letterpress invitations were designed by her dear brother, Will. In her hair, the bride wore babies breath and around her neck was the necklace given to her as her “something new”. Bailee designed her wedding gown and it was stunning! The gown, created by Anomalie, had scalloped lace sleeves as well as scalloping on the back and neckline. The blush underlay was specifically chosen as a compliment to the day, and the chapel style scalloped train had a light and airy feel. At the waist, a thin blush sash tied into a bow in the back of the dress. Designed by Holly’s Flower Shop, the florals were a mix of roses, peonies, babies breath, garden roses, and eucalyptus. The grooms grandmothers handmade the over 100 linen napkins that accompanied the place settings. Every little detail the bride and groom included in their day had a personal touch from someone they love dearly.
The couple entered the celebration with their children, Isley and Paxton, and were greeted with cheers from their dearest friends and family. After their first dance, the bride and groom enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Tabella Italian Restaurant and then snacked on cupcakes by The Bake Shop for dessert. Bailee and Dexter spent the rest of the celebration dancing the night away under the stars with their family and friends. It was truly a one of a kind event, and I’m so thankful to have been part of it!
