You just never know where the Lord's going to lead you! If you had told me two years ago that I would be a small business owner, I would have said you were crazy. I have a little over 8 years of experience working in Higher Education, and was working in the field at the time that I made the decision to go back to school full time to finish my master's in Higher Education Administration. It was by pure happenstance that I began to dream of a career in photography. While working as a graduate assistant for my academic department, I started photographing my fellow students, faculty members, and other graduate assistants for the department website. I really enjoyed it, and in the fall of 2016, I photographed a senior session and a few family friends for their holiday cards. And there it is - the start of everything! I was HOOKED!!! As soon as I left my friends, I would rush home to pop my SD card into my laptop to see what I'd captured! I felt just like the 6 year old version of myself on Christmas morning! From there, I realized that if I wanted to take my photography to the next level, I needed to invest in education, and so I did and have continued to do so since. Sometimes I wake up and pinch myself, because I can't believe I get to do this job everyday! It doesn't seem real sometimes, but I know I'm exactly where I need to be, and I am just so incredibly grateful!
So! Enough about how my business got started! Let's talk about the fun stuff! I am just like every other southern girl - I love my Nike shorts and Chacos, I will monogram anything that's not nailed down, and there isn't a George Strait song I don't know by heart! I love to remember the times spent with my grandmother playing Monopoly in her living room and thinking how proud she would be of my hydrangeas and roses. My husband and my dogs (whom I affectionately refer to as my "kids" - not the hubby, just the dogs!) are my heart, and are my all time favorite subjects to photograph! I bleed black and gold (Southern Miss To The Top!), and have had a subscription to Southern Living Magazine since I was in college!
I can't thank you enough for dropping in on me! As I'm sure you can tell, my style of photography is very light and airy with a dreamy whimsical feel. I think of my clients as friends, and treating them as I would want to be treated is my priority. My favorite part about what I do is working with all of you! I get to meet so many wonderful folks through this adventure, and I feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity. Serving you is an honor, and I can't wait to get to know you!
